It’s heading for its greatest elongation – its greatest apparent distance from the sun in our sky – in June. Venus will set over 3 hours after sunset by April’s end. The waxing crescent moon will pass bright Venus on April 22 and 23. Also nearby is the fiery red star Aldebaran, a foreground star in the Hyades star cluster and the brightest star in Taurus the Bull. It’ll pass near the lovely dipper-shaped Pleiades star cluster around April 10 and 11, 2023, and then sweep between the Pleiades and the V-shaped Hyades star cluster.
